http://www.h-net.org/~artsweb/

H-AfrArts is a refereed, multi- and inter-disciplinary discussion group/website that focuses on the expressive cultures of Africa (and the African Diaspora)-particularly the visual arts. All messages are archived and searchable on-line.

H-AfrArts was founded in 1994 and is cosponsored by Humanities and Social Sciences OnLine (H-Net) and th Arts Council for th African Studies Association (ACASA). It is but one of a family of H-Net Lists (12) that focus Africa.

H-AfrArts invites messages from individuals engaged in the humanistic study of the entire continent and encourages informed discussions of teaching and research at all levels of interest and complexity.

H-AfrArts editors solicit postings (by email, phone and even by regular mail), assist in managing subscriptions, handle routine inquiries, and consolidate postings. Editors retain the right to review material for its pertinence, tone, style, and relevance to the list's mission.

Queries and announcements sent to H-AfrArts can range from the practical to very general open ended musings. However, inquiries that are too general or too specific do not generate productive professional and scholarly responses. Messages that violate the norms of civility and professional courtesy are rejected. NOTE: H-AfrArt does not redistribute attachments (.pdf, .jpg). Consider posting this material on a separate web site and referring to its URL in the body of the message.
