URGENT – 17th ACASA Triennial Symposium Book Donation

ACASA members who will be attending the 17th Triennial Symposium in Ghana are encouraged to bring copies of books (theirs or others) to donate to the libraries of our host institution, the University of Ghana’s Institute of African Studies, and the Faculty of Art at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi.  Mary Jo Arnoldi and Suzanne Gott will be receiving your book donations in Ghana at the Triennial conference registration desk before the morning panels.

To avoid duplication, Mary Jo Arnoldi (arnoldim@si.edu) has arranged for her intern, Catherine Kinsley (kinsleyc@si.edu)  to coordinate individual’s book donations with lists of these libraries’ current holdings and with the donations of our ACASA members.  Please email Catherine Kinsley with a cc to Mary Jo Arnoldi before July 25th with a list of books you are planning to donate so that we can coordinate the lists and alert members to potential duplications. Book donations can be brought in your suitcase, or as a second suitcase of books.

ACASA will make a formal presentation to the two libraries at the conference. Thank you all in advance for participating in this project.

People wanting to ship their donations to the IAS and KNUST Libraries may use the following addresses:
